Chronic Disease and Clinics
If you have a longstanding heath problem e.g. diabetes, asthma, hypertension, you will be sent an appointment by our audit clerk for your annual check. This will consist of two appointments; one with the nurse for various tests, followed by one with the doctor a couple of weeks later to review your results and medication.
Some of our doctors have specialist skills, (Dr Frank- Respiratory, Dr Hyde - Dermatology and Minor Surgery, Dr Hodson- Family Planning, Dr Patel-ENT )
Child Health Clinics
The Baby Clinic is held on Tuesday mornings and is booked appointments. This is for well babies only. Appointments will be sent to you from Child Health. The clinic is run by the practice nurses and the doctors.
Pre-school clinic is held on Thursday, 15.30-16.30
Minor Operation Clinic
Dr Hyde sees patients with minor skin complaints that require a surgical procedure. This will be done by a referral from a doctor. Dr Hyde also has a wart clinic every few weeks and you can book an appointment for this at the reception.
All patients between 25 and 65 should have a smear every three to five years to help prevent cancer of the cervix. You will be sent an invitation to attend for a smear.
Contraception and Sexual health
The doctors provide a range of contraceptive services including the fitting of coils. If you require a coil, please ask for an appointment with Dr Hodson first to discuss this. Emergency contraception is also available. This may also be available free of charge at local pharmacies.
Some examinations are not paid for by the NHS. These include HGV, PSV, taxi and elderly driving licence medicals, and also private health insurance claims and private sick notes. Please see the receptionist for details of the current fees.
